The preanalytical phase is a critical part of laboratory medicine and essential to delivering quality patient care. The preanalytical phase is also a source for the majority of laboratory diagnostic errors with some of the greatest challenges for laboratory professionals. The most common preanalytical errors include challenges with patient preparation, sample collection and transportation, and preparation for analysis and storage. The good news is that these errors can be minimized by forward-thinking healthcare professionals who are proactive in finding collaborative solutions to overcome them.
AACC’s Preanalytical Phase Conference provides real answers to real problems facing laboratory medicine. This 1.5-day program is hosted by experts in the field who will share their wisdom, experiences, and triumphs working in the ever-changing landscape of the preanalytical phase. The conference includes plenaries and main sessions covering timely topics in transgender medicine and lab automation along with core areas of the preanalytical phase. In addition, the conference will also include interactive breakout sessions for small group discussions, poster sessions, and other opportunities to network with leaders in the field.
Join AACC March 25-26, 2022 to hear the latest advances in preanalytics and learn how to apply strategies to overcome the most common laboratory errors and improve patient care.
This conference is designed to meet the needs of clinical laboratory physicians, supervisors, managers, and other laboratory professionals overseeing and/or carrying out preanalytical phase processes.
At the end of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Develop strategies to reduce preanalytical phase errors and interferences.
- Discuss new and emerging technologies that may improve the preanalytical process.
- Incorporate updated knowledge when considering options for preanalytical phase solutions taking their effects on specimen processing and turnaround time into consideration.
